HELLO
             I am Marion

I am a certified yoga teacher of different traditions (E-RYT 500) with 3 studios in Hamburg and the surrounding area.

To be able to pass on my experiences and insights from yoga and mindfulness practice and impulses from my background as a psychological consultanten, fills me with great joy and deep satisfaction.

My great passion, more than work, is yoga and meditation and I know how privileged and lucky I am to be able to do something that fills me completely.

My innermost need is to support people to find their own center (again), to recognize their own strengths, but also to accept weaknesses, to come and be at peace with themselves and the world._cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b -136bad5cf58d_

I have been fascinated and captivated by the world of yoga and mindfulness practice since 2005. Since then I have had the great fortune and privilege of having learned and continue to learn from great and inspiring personalities.

All teachers and especially yoga taught me one thing: to trust the greatest teacher, the teacher in myself!

SHORT

Born in 1969, mother of 3 children.

Born in Pretoria/ South Africa, after almost 5 years there, grew up in Munich... for 34 years now  in Hamburg at home and again and again  in my "heart -City" Cape Town or in the intoxicating Californian nature.

MEDIUM

I continue to immerse myself in the inexhaustible diversity of yoga, practice and learn the most diverse yoga styles; from the yoga-therapeutic approach, to the classic integral Hatha-Yoga, to Vinyasa,  Yin & Restorative Yoga and the modern elements of Inside Flow.

In addition to my 3 yoga teacher training courses, countless further training courses have led and are leading me ever deeper into the vastness of the yoga world and the millennia-old philosophy behind it (which particularly captivates and inspires me) and wonderful teachers have accompanied me over the last few years; more wonderful ones will surely follow.

LONG

I was born in South Africa in 1969 as the daughter of a young boy from Germany and a girl from Hamburg.
To this day, Cape Town is my heart city, even though my father took me to Munich when I was almost 5 years old, where I grew up. But as soon as I had my A-levels in my pocket, 19 years old, I packed my things and moved north to Hamburg, where I have been living for 34 years now.
But my yoga path did not start here.
I was young and thirsty for life – I danced through Hamburg’s nightlife for years, more or less studied education, earned good money in gastronomy for a long time, later got bored as an editorial assistant in the office of a weekly newspaper, got married, had two children, divorced, married several Years later again... before yoga came into my life.
An important key moment of my young adult life was a women's group that I met regularly: "The Evas". There I met Sarah Rodeck and later her mother Karin, who opened my eyes and my heart to mental health and psychological healing methods and became the most important and formative people in my life.
After the birth of my third child, I began training as a psychological non-medical practitioner.
As a gift for me, part of the school offer was also the training to become a yoga teacher. I finally found what I was always looking for!
After the subsequent 2-year yoga teacher training at Yoga Vidya, various courses and training in psychology (Gestalt therapy, hypnosis, terminal care and mediation), I opened my first own consulting practice with YogaStudio in 2011, the "Kraftquelle" in Hamburg-Sasel.
The yoga room quickly became too small and so Satyaloka Yoga in Ahrensburg followed just a year later (where I offered my first training in 2013), 2015 in Hamburg-Poppenbüttel and in 2018 Urban Yoga in the city of Hamburg, where I now mainly train and train yoga teachers train.
Since then, yoga has accompanied me through the ups and downs of life and always brings wonderful people into my life - like my mentor Mark Stephens, whom I was able to meet for the first time in 2015 (in Munich of all places) and can now count among my friends, or Dr. Richard Miller and Jack Kornfield, who I am currently studying with.

All my teachers and especially yoga taught me one thing: to trust the greatest teacher, the teacher in me. I am infinitely grateful for that - the yoga that is my life!

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

“I've been going to Urban Yoga at least 4-5 times a week for 1.5 years now, but somehow I've never had the chance to take a class with Marion Schwarzat (she doesn't teach regularly in the open classes, but mostly gives training courses). ). Today was the day and it was so great! I don't know if I've ever experienced a yoga class that was so precise, creative and loving. Now I understand why all the teacher trainees rave about her...

"Without you, your heart for your studio in Ahrensburg and your unforgettable power yoga lessons on Saturdays there, I would probably never have delved so deeply into the world of yoga. Really, that was formative and really picked me up.

As a logical consequence, I was able to do the training with you and am still there and have now been able to teach as a yoga teacher in Ahrensburg for a long time, which fills me with pride and joy. And this path has also brought me into a process for which I am very grateful."

"Dear Marion, I was able to practice yoga online with you today, I am very touched and would like to take this opportunity to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. This was such a wonderful yoga class.

Since I live in Flensburg, I probably won't become a regular guest at your place, but I'm already looking forward to the next "exception".
